Kenya: Church urge government, well wishers to support youths

Religious leaders from Busia county have called on the government and local leaders to nurture talents among youths in the county.

Led by Rev. Wyclife Wafula of Tree of Life church, the leaders who were talking at Runyu area in Budalangi during ‘Youths in Church Talent show’, said many youths in the region have talents which need to be nurtured to enable them realise their full potential, “We have seen talented youths here, most of them have composed their own songs and sing well but have nobody to support them”

He said it’s painful to see the talents go to waste, thus urged local leaders, the government and well wishers to join hands and support the dedicated youths, “We as a church are going to have a program to see how these youths get help and we call on other partners to come in and help in this noble course”


During the three days occassion which brought together youths and religious leaders from various areas and denominations in Busia county and western region, youths alliegned to different groups presented songs, dances and plays with educative message to other youths and the community at large.

At the same time, the leaders advised youths to take care of themselves during this long December holiday and avoid engaging in activities that will bring harm to their life, “We would like to advise our youths to conduct themselves with sobrierity and much care that is needed because this long holiday has many temptations which can be costy to their entire life.”
